The corners where lines meet are darker which really gives the illusion of depth. The point of the pencil is very good as well. Perhaps draw them a little bigger next time?

You did a great job creating a 3-D illusion in both of your drawings. The variation of thickness on the pencil is done gradually and helps to create the 3-dimensional appearance. The only thing I see (which is very little) is that you could maybe change something about the lines between the cap and the stick to help show that they are separate pieces. But, otherwise you did a very good job!
Nice job! I especially like your pencil. The way you darkened the corners and make it lighter coming towards the center rocks my socks. I especially liked the led. I agree with Riley that you could totally draw them bigger, especially the chap stick. You could probably get less cramped detail that way.
Hi Carolyn, Good work. I agree with the other comments about making the drawings a bit bigger. Also, I commented on a similar topic to other people, which is to try to choose objects that are really interesting..both of these are basically cylinders, one short, one long. You did a very good job with the details on both of them..the texture of the pencil, and the writing on the chapstick!! Your line quality on the chapstick looks a little darker than the pencil, and that makes the chapstick look a little more three dimensional. -Deb Karpman

Great job Carolyn, your drawings of both the pencil and chapstick are really good, I really like the details of the chapstick.
