Connie Wyatt - Contour Drawings 1 & 2

  1. The lines on the jar look great. It really gives the illusion of 3D. The lid looks a little slanted, but executed well. The banana looks more two dimensional, but I like the variation in the darkness of the lines.

  2. Connie you did a good job on both your banana, and jar, the lines in the jar gives it a detailed look.

  3. You did a great job on both of your drawings. The jar seems real! The line variation and the accuracy creates the illusion of a 3-D object. The banana also looks good. You may could make the middle like a little lighter just to help make it seem even more 3-D. Great Job, overall!

  4. Oooh your jar is great. Especially how you were able to show the glass corners coming in at the top. Your dementions on the jar are really awesome too. Your nana is lacking something though. seems like it needs some darkness around the edges, maybe on one side like you did to the jar. Since its a light colored fruit, I'd try to draw it in a darker light to get a better idea of what lines need to be darker or lighter.

  5. Hi Connie, This is a great start!! You did a really good job of fixing the glass jar. It looks so much better, and the translucency of the object is very convincing. You really did a great job showing that the texture is glass. Very impressive!
The line quality on both are very good. I think that the banana is a little less interesting, but that might be more an issue of choosing an interesting object, than your drawing of it...just be sure to choose objects that you find really interesting (i've told this to pretty much everyone so far!) - Deb Karpman
