Your handle is very good. I knew exactly what this was and felt I could pick it up. Softer on the lines in the centers, but keep them dark around the corners and bottoms. Nice
I see some variation around the lip of the cup, but I think if you tried to make a more dramatic difference it would come out looking more 3D. Good job.
Hi Denise, Yes, so far, these could use more line variation, so try to focus on that..keeping the lines softer/lighter towards the middle, and darker towards edges. Also keep an eye on symmetry..if your drawing something symmetrical, try to look at it to make sure the sides match. To do this, try putting your hand in the center of the ellipse (the top part of the mug), put it perpendicular to the sheet of paper and look at the two sides..if they match then it's good, if one side looks different than the other, work to make them more similar. both of these things -- working on line variation and symmetry will really help!! -Deb Karpman
This looks more like an outline. The videos talk about line variation and detail, just focus more on that and the next one will be great.

ReplyDeleteI especially like the way you varied the line thickness on the handle -- it gives it a rounded appearance. Good job. Connie Wyatt
